Supporting Malaria Free Community

The CSO Platform plays a vital role in supporting coordination between Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), malaria/vector borne disease/health programs, Country Coordinating Mechanisms (CCMs), and development partners. We assist communities across the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) to gain access to timely and high-quality malaria /integrated disease control services through program design and advocacy. By providing a unified space, we bring together CSOs and community representatives to share lessons learned, best practices, and strengthen their efforts in the fight against malaria and other infectious diseases.

Our platform focuses on building the capacity of local CSOs by offering tailored training and tools to enhance their program implementation skills. We design capacity-strengthening plans based on the specific needs of our partners to ensure their growth and impact.

Our Focus Areas:

  1. Coordination: Facilitating collaboration between CSOs, national malaria/health program, CCM and other stakeholders to improve service delivery.
  2. Knowledge Sharing/Brokering: Promoting the development and exchange of information and best practices across the region.
  3. Capacity Strengthening: Providing targeted training and tools to enhance program implementation.
  4. Community Data and Advocacy: Collecting and utilizing community data through consultations, field visits and Community engagement to support advocacy efforts for health equity and inclusiveness.
  5. Supporting the Global Fund Regional TB Grant: Engaging communities in and advocating for the Global Fund’s regional TB grant for migrant populations  in the Mekong region.

In addition to these core priorities, the CSO Platform has played a key role in community and CSO consultation and engagement during the development of the Global Fund RAI grants since RAI2E and for the special COVID-19 funding, focusing on the needs and priorities of communities and civil society.

By working closely with Malaria National Programs (NMPs), government partners, CSOs, and other NGOs, we advocate for sustained resources and innovative technical solutions to achieve malaria-free GMS and on the planning for sustainable malaria elimination and prevention of re-establishment through integrated health services.

We are committed to reducing barriers to healthcare services, ensuring that vulnerable populations have better access to the care they need to improve their health outcomes.
